Online Infotainment Update

Updating Your SEAT CONNECT Online Infotainment

SEAT vehicle’s systems are constantly being improved, and new updates are always being rolled out. Someone might think that this is a complicated process, which takes a lot of time and effort, but this is not the case. For the customer to update the system software, it takes two quick steps.

Once there is an available update on the infotainment system, you will receive a notification which must be accepted for the update to download. While it downloads, the vehicle will be fully functional and drivable. Once the file gets downloaded on the infotainment center, the system will wait for the vehicle to no longer be in use before starting the installation.

While the installation is in progress, some functions may not be available. Once the updating process finishes, you will receive a notification on the My SEAT App. It will tell you whether the update was successful or it failed.

The way the online infotainment update works is revolutionary and practical. You just have to press two buttons, and the vehicle does everything else on its own. Everything happens wirelessly, and you receive all the latest features, improvements and fixes over the air.

Another benefit of this kind of update is that you will have the ability to choose when the system update begins. So if you know you’re going to need the vehicle at a specific time, you can simply postpone the update. Compared to other brands, SEAT systems don’t need a workshop and a mechanic to be updated.

SEAT ensures that the updating process takes place with minimal driver intervention. The downloads can happen wirelessly while you’re on the road, even when you’re in the middle of using all of the benefits of the system. Once you are done driving for the day, the vehicle can start the installation process. You simply need to hit a button for the installation to begin and leave the vehicle. When you go for a drive the next day, you will be able to access all the fresh features that come with the new updates.

SEAT will let its drivers know when there is an update available through the infotainment system. All users of the vehicle can accept and install updates. For an update to take place, the vehicle needs to be either in “Share My Position”, “Use My Position” or “No Position Data” mode. Keep in mind that if you leave the vehicle in the “Maximum Privacy” setting, you won’t be able to receive notifications about new updates.
