Online Remote Update (ORU) enables the capability of bringing all the eligible cars to the last available version. This will improve stability, responsiveness and bring new features to customer vehicles without the need of visiting a workshop.
When available, the vehicle starts to download the update automatically (no customer interaction needed). The vehicle will be fully functional during this process: the update is downloaded in the background while driving.
Then, a pop-up appears to notify the customer a new update is available.
After turning off the car, the Goodbye screen will show the option ‘Update available’. If selected, the customer is asked if he wants to start the installation process. Then, the customer has to get out of the car and lock doors without waiting for it to finish .
The vehicle cannot be used until the installation process is finished.
Once the updating process is done, the customer is informed of the status (success / failure).
