The litre capacity indicates the power output that an engine produces for each litre of cubic capacity. At 150 hp per litre of cubic capacity, the SEAT Leon CUPRA has a particularly high output per litre.
In motorsport, the cars reach the most extreme litre capacity. In turbocharged engines, several hundred hp is possible. In Formula 1, the best engines used achieve about 850 hp with three litres cubic capacity and thus a litre capacity of 283 hp.
